Amalfi Coast & Capri

by Morgan

The Amalfi Coast is one of the most famous areas of Italy that cannot be missed! The area is surrounded with gorgeous coastline filled with drastic cliffs, rocky beaches, and old Italian couples lounging in beach chairs wearing minimal clothing or SPF. If you have the time, spend a few days in Capri, one of the most iconic and chicest islands off the Amalfi Coast.

Because we haven’t spent more than a few days in the Amalfi Coast, if you are looking for additional resources or recommendations, we encourage you to read our friend (“Jetset”) Christina’s blog, which is a much more extensive overview of the area.

What you can’t miss…

  • Boat day to Capri. If you are planning on spending a few days in Capri after being on the Amalfi Coast, you can get a private boat charter for a day and use that as your transportation over there, while stopping along the way to swim and exploring the gorgeous geography in the area. If you’re looking to get a boat to take you there for the day and back, we recommend Gianni’s Boat Capri!

  • Lunch with a view at Grand Hotel Miramare (if you’re staying in Positano)

  • Chez Black for Pizza in Positano for the iconic heart shaped pizzas!

Where to stay…

  • We stayed at this Airbnb in the heart of Positano, which functioned more as a hotel with a reception and concierge. It was perfectly located a 7 minute walk to the main beach, and in the center of town. The views were amazing and the rooms were small but great.

  • Given the nature and the geography of the Amalfi Coast, your best budget options will be to opt for an Airbnb like the one we stayed at in a prime location, and plan the majority of your time exploring, at the beach clubs, or dining at the luxury hotels.

  • Le Sirenuse is an iconic, and uber luxurious experience also in the heart of Positano if you are looking for a splurge, and is high on our list to visit! If you don’t stay there, try to book a reservation for lunch, drinks, or dinner.

  • Hotel Miramalfi and Santa Caterina have also come highly recommended from trusted sources as luxury options.

What to pack…

  • Hiking / good walking shoes as you’ll likely be walking up lots of stairs!

  • Bathing suits

  • Linens

  • Chic dresses and sets
